Implementation and Test of Replacement SCADA System
Organisation Function | Anglian Water is the largest water and water recycling company in England and Wales, it combines multiple strategic assets which run as individual control operations. |
Project | The Telemetry Replacement Project (TRP), replaces one of the largest telemetry systems in Europe and brings these assets into one new Schneider Electric system. The system is Critical to the UK National Infrastructure and such we fully comply with the Centre for the Protection of the National Infrastructure. |
How we help | Implementation (Cutover) Management – Documented and executed the Implementation Strategy and Plan to oversee deployment of the Pre-Production and Production environment. Documenting the Cutover Strategy and Plan – involved liaising with Developers through senior stakeholders to ensure acceptance on Cutover Strategy. Assisted Implementation (Business) Managers with preparation of major impact plans aligning to Cutover Plan. Liaised with departments ensuring adequate resource is assigned for each cutover step. Documented the Cutover Task Lists (hrs, mins) and supporting Method Statement (often delegated), Produced High-Level Presentations to articulate the methods across various levels of expertise. Conducted Cutover trials and dress rehearsals. Defined and negotiated temporary Change Management/Change Freeze requirements. Executed the Cutover Task List steps for go-live of new system into Production involving a team of 40 people working together on thirteen go-live days across multiple geographic locations. Assisted in defining ‘sanity’ testing immediately after go-live prior to handover to BAU. Engaging with BAU teams to establish the requirements for a smooth transition – identifying and facilitating the provision of training/documentation needs. Test and Release Manager – Document test strategy, plan test execution, plan/recruit resource and report test statistics. Supervised team members carrying out requirements analysis, test case/script preparation, functional testing, performance testing, factory/site/user testing. All test deadlines were met with no major bugs being reported in Production. |
